Dr. Michael Blackburn
Dr. Blackburn is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama in 1984 and his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the UAB School of Optometry in 1988. He has over 33 years of experience caring for patients while practicing in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. He returned to Birmingham in 1995 and opened his private optometry practice in February 2001. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages, infants to seniors. Dr. Blackburn and his wife Cindy have two daughters and one son.
Sandy Lassmann
Sandy Lassmann joined the Vision Source team in October 2023. Mrs. Lassmann, a native of Alabama, grew up in the Montgomery area where she worked in the optical industry gaining 30 years’ experience. Mrs. Lassmann has a passion for God and serving others in her community. Sandy spends most of her time either at work or at church. Mrs. Lassmann loves spending time at church and with her growing family. Sandy is blessed to be with one granddaughter that she enjoys spoiling.
Dani Wiggins
Dani joined the Vision Source team in September 2019 as our contact lens specialist. With new advances in technology and a new opportunity for growth, Dani is now our TempSure Technician. She is excited about the TempSure Envi RF technology. Dani looks forward to working with our patients to gain that youthful glow with skin rejuvenation and dry eye treatment. In addition to the TempSure RF treatment, patient interaction and contact lens training are her favorite parts of the day.
No matter if Dani is in the office or outside the office, she is always looking for ways to brighten someone’s day. When you enter our office, you may come in when there is a lot of laughter. Dani and her shenanigans would likely be the reason. We are so blessed to have Dani as part of our team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has been married to her husband, Michael, for 11 years and they have two sweet daughters at home.
Sharon Barber, CPO
Savanna Rawden
Ms. Rawden, a native of Alabama, grew up in Fairhope with her family. Savanna is the middle child of 4 siblings. Shortly after moving to the greater Birmingham area, Savanna joined our team in January 2023. New to the optical industry, and demonstrating a willingness to learn, Savanna has quickly become an asset to our team. Since joining the Vision Source team, Savanna demonstrates a heart of service for others through her kindness and care for our patients. With an eagerness to learn and absorb all the technological advances in patient care, Savanna has recently been promoted to Technician where she continues to serve caring for our patients.
Susan Langner
Susan joined our team in October of 2023 with 9 years of experience in the optical industry. Ms. Langner graduated from Ogeechee Technical college in Statesboro Georgia with an AAS in Opticianry.
Ms. Langner has an outgoing personality, kind heart, and a passion for serving others. Assisting patients choose the perfect pair of eyeglasses to accent their facial features is one of Susans talents. Ms. Langner is knowledgeable in the latest lens technology and continues to advance her career learning the continued advancements in Optometry. With her witty personality and kindness towards others, it is no wonder that she is also an avid animal lover. Susan spends most of her time with her family and her two dogs, Allie, and Cash.
